Camp Policies
Baseball Cares runs this free one-day camp for ages 11 to 13 on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at Bishop O’Connell High School. When you check the box on the application or sign at check-in, you agree to these policies for your camper and yourself.
1. Baseball has risks
Campers will run, throw, catch, hit and field. Players can get hurt, for example by a thrown or batted ball, a fall, a collision, heat or cold, or a strained muscle. Injuries are usually minor but can be serious. You understand these risks and choose to let your camper take part.
2. Release
To the extent the law allows, you agree not to hold Baseball Cares, the people and organizations that run and support the camp, the venue, sponsors, coaches and volunteers responsible for ordinary injuries or losses that come from taking part. This does not cover gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
3. Emergency medical care
If your camper is hurt or sick and we can’t reach you right away, you allow camp staff to give first aid, call 911, and let medical responders treat your camper. You’re responsible for any medical costs. At check-in we ask only for emergency contacts and one line about any allergies, conditions or medications our coaches should know about that day. Bring any EpiPen or inhaler your camper may need.
4. Head injuries
A camper who shows signs of a possible concussion sits out for the rest of the day, and we contact you.
5. Photos and video
We take photos and video at camp. You allow Baseball Cares to use images of your camper to share and promote the camp, including on our website and social media. We never post a camper’s name with an image. Sponsors may use only images we give them, and only to promote Baseball Cares.
6. Rules and supervision
Campers follow coaches’ directions and treat everyone with respect. Parents are welcome to stay and watch, and no adult is ever alone with a camper out of sight of others. A parent or guardian signs the camper in at check-in and writes down who will pick them up. Campers leave only with that person or the parent or guardian, and are signed out. A camper who is unsafe or disrespectful may be sent home.
7. Your information
We use your information only to run the camp and contact you about it. If your camper isn't invited, we clear the background answers on their application after camp. Only camp leaders see the allergy and medical line. It is blacked out within 30 days after camp, and the signed sheet is kept securely as the record of consent. We don’t sell or share your information.
